Ubisoft is showing The Black Eyed Peas the love with a new dance game ‘The Black Eyed Peas Experience in the works for the Microsoft Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.

“We are thrilled to be working with Ubisoft to create The Black Eyed Peas Experience video game,” said Peas front man will.i.am in a press release. The publisher and band announced the game Saturday in Paris, where the Peas have a three-date run at the Stade de France.

“Ubisoft has both redefined and dominated the dance category in the video game industry, and we can’t wait to be part of taking that to the next level by infusing an experience that’s 100% authentic to The Black Eyed Peas.”

Ubisoft has danced its way to multimillion-selling success with dance games. The Peas will be the second game in the ‘Experience’ franchise. Michael Jackson: The Experience has sold more than three million copies. Meanwhile, Ubisoft’s Just Dance games have about 14 million copies.

The Black Eyed Peas Experience for Wii will be similar to the Just Dance games with players holding a Wii Remote and following the moves of the The Black Eyed Peas’ on-screen avatars. The game is being developed by Ubisoft Quebec and Ubisoft Paris.

The Xbox 360 version of the game will let players control an on-screen avatar using the Kinect motion controller to follow the moves of the band members. The game is being developed with rhythm game developers iNiS (Lips, Elite Beat Agents). “It puts you in the midst of a performance,” says Ubisoft senior brand manager Andy Simpson.

Each of band members (apl.de.ap, Fergie, Taboo and will.i.am) have realistic avatars in the game — watch the video above — and they are doing motion capture for the game.

Players will be able to dance to all of the Peas’ hits, as well as new dance routines arranged by the group’s famed creative director and choreographer, Fatima Robinson. While the game is primarily a dance game, players have the option to sing along to lyrics scrolling on-screen.

“The Black Eyed Peas are the perfect artists to headline our next Experience game. Their award-winning music, dance moves and artistic style will be combined into a gaming experience that will excite both fans of the group and those who enjoy playing dance titles,” said Ubisoft CEO and co-founder Yves Guillemot in a statement. “The Black Eyed Peas are a worldwide phenomenon, and Ubisoft is the worldwide leader in dance games – together we are going to make The Black Eyed Peas Experience a game that fans around the world will love.”
