Fergie Refuses to go Solo

Black Eyed Peas star Fergie insists she isn’t leaving the group to go it alone.

The singer — who has enjoyed solo success with debut album The Dutchess and singles Big Girls Don’t Cry and Glamorous – says she has no intentions ditching her bandmates — Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo — to launch a career on her own.

“It’s not just about money, it’s a family, we’re friends,” she said.

“We have a great time together and we have a great time making music.

“For me, I’m very blessed, because I have the best of both worlds, I can go do a solo album, or I can do a Peas album. It doesn’t matter. Or I can go do a movie.”

The 34-year-old, real name Stacy Ann Ferguson, said being part of a band is a nicer feeling than being a solo star and the sole center of attention.

“There’s a little less pressure on me being with the Peas,” she admits.

Fergie also revealed why she ditched her blond locks to go dark. “I love it,” she dished. “For me it was just time to evolve and I had just been married, I’d finished the Nine film and was going into this whole new era with The Black Eyed Peas in getting back with them. It felt like I needed a change.

“It’s just about evolving in my life and this is the first time I’ve ever been this dark. So I’m enjoying it, I love it. It’s fun to be a brunette.”  [Source]
