Black Eyed Peas now or pre-Fergie?

It looks as if people have had harsh words about Fergie. Now that she would care, but ever since she joined the hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas, the sound has deviated from hip-hop to a more mainstream poppy sound. It’s a sound I don’t particularly care for, but if the band has success, why hate? It’s just that I’m feeling “Joints and Jams” a lot more than “Boom Boom Pow”.She tells Elle Magazine the following:”When I first joined, there were a lot of people who didn’t know what to make of me, and they’d been a fan of Black Eyed Peas being an underground hip-hop band. Then I come in, and the first song we released when I was in the band was ‘Where Is the Love?’ with Justin Timberlake. So when that hit all the crossover markets, a lot of people said it was my fault that they were taken out of the underground.”
